Daily scout — how it works
The daily job scout is an automated pass that surfaces fresh, well-matched roles each day and writes them to a dated leads file. It reads a single config file for who I am and what I want, so changing the search is just editing that file.
The config (control-center/job-sources.md)
The cron reads job-sources.md for fit judgement and filters. Edit it freely — the next run adapts.
Who I am
Mihael “foogy” Fugaj — product designer moving into product management. 10+ years, lead/owner on small teams. Web2 + Web3, e-commerce, marketplaces, fintech, SaaS. Based in Zagreb (EU). Portfolio: foogy.xyz (+ foogy.xyz/pm for the PM angle).
Rank higher (strengths)
- Full-scope product design — design systems, UX, and UI end-to-end.
- Frontend implementation — strong CSS / frontend; with AI tooling I ship the build (design-to-code, not just handoff). Design-engineer / “design + front-end” roles are a great fit.
- Product management — discovery, prioritization, roadmap, integrations, shipping.
Down-rank / skip
- Motion / animation-heavy design — not a fit (learning it). Skip “motion designer” titles.
Hard filters (drop anything that fails)
| Filter | Rule |
|---|---|
| Role | Product Designer / UX-UI or Product Manager (incl. fractional PM) |
| Location | Remote only |
| Engagement | Part-time, fractional, contract, or project-based — not full-time permanent |
| Source | Direct with a company / product / startup — not agencies or staffing/recruiters |
| Language / tz | English-speaking. US-based / US-timezone roles welcome and preferred; worldwide/EU remote also fine |
Where it looks
Best-fit fractional/project boards (Go Fractional, Lenny’s, Pangea, Contra, Wellfound, YC), design-focused boards (Dribbble, UX Jobs Board, ADPList), remote-general boards (We Work Remotely, Remote OK), and Web3 boards (CryptoJobsList, web3.career, Braintrust). Sources are added/removed as I learn what converts.
Output
Each run writes a dated file (e.g. 2026-06-30.md) with:
- Strong fit (new) — direct-company roles that pass every hard filter, each with a one-line angle on which case studies to lead with.
- Worth a look — roles to verify (scope unclear or older posting).
- Checked & dropped — an honest log of what was filtered out and why (full-time, agency, motion, etc.), so nothing is silently lost.
The leads docs in this project (2026-06-30, 2026-06-29) are those outputs rendered here.
